What is a Green B&B ?

Green B&Bs in Herefordshire have all won awards from the Wildlife Trust.

B&Bs with Wildlife Action Awards (at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels) have taken steps to promote wildlife in their gardens and to provide visitors with information to help them explore the surrounding countryside. They may have created new wildlife habitats in their gardens, chosen plants that provide lots of nectar and berries or have created their own wildlife walks.

B&Bs with Green Business Awards aim to be environmentally friendly. They have reduced their impact on the environment by using resources efficiently and minimising waste. Measures they may have taken include buying local, organic produce, fitting water butts so that rainwater can be used for watering the garden and re-using shopping bags rather than accepting new ones each time.
