Apple Store Gallery was opened in 2005 by husband and wife team David Laws and Marion Campbell in an Arts & Crafts apple store in Brockhampton, Herefordshire.

Apple Store Gallery moved to Bridge Street, Hereford in October 2010 and again in March 2014 to Rockfield Road, Hereford where we are now open throughout the year for exhibitions of local artists’ work, artist’s workshops, poetry and music events. We also offer a framing service. And, artists’ studios for rent.

Marion & David have many years’ experience of arts management and practice and hope that this venue will further the reputation of Herefordshire as the county of creativity as well as of beautiful scenery and heritage.

“We have worked for a long time with many local artists and craft practitioners and are very excited about the opportunity the Gallery presents to help promote local work. The artists are very supportive of the venture that we hope presents insights into the whole range of fine art. We are especially keen to open up exhibition opportunities for young artists who live or have studied locally and who can benefit from the support of those who are more established. To this end, we sponsor Herefordshire Young Open which forms part of h.Art and the End of Year show for the BA Fine Art Degree at Hereford College of Arts. We also take part in h.Art (Herefordshire Art Week) and Photofest”.

In the future we aim to work more closely with the wider community by offering:

Access to an increased range of exhibition venues
Exhibition furniture and display equipment for purchase and/or hire and a hanging service
Advice on presentation, a framing service and provision of specialist canvases
Promotion of links between local artists and the wider public.

We are also delighted to be sponsors of Framework Herefordshire, a newly-formed Company Limited by Guarantee to act as a Support Network for Emerging Artists in Herefordshire.

This summer, we shall be taking part in the Magna Carta 800 celebrations with an exhibition by local artists in response to the legacy together with a talk by Allen Fisher entitled ‘Shifting Liberties and other Consequences’.

During July we shall be part of Hereford Three Choirs Plus with a music themed exhibition responding to three pieces composed by local musician, John Frith (see photo) and events and activities during the Three Choirs Festival week, 15th July to 1st August. Please see our website for full details.
