Plantastik Cic - The cafe with a heart - is a Community Interest Company a company set up to serve the community and to put back any profit into the community. The old hair salon in West Street has been converted into a welcoming space. Our chef Hanna produces delicious meals from different ingredients every week depending on what is supplied by FareShare who distribute surplus food from supermarkets.
We serve meals, drinks, cakes and takeaways offering plant-based food and drinks, a healthy and planet friendly option to eating out. We reduce food waste by using surplus supermarket supplies from FareShare and other sources of unused food. Serving only vegan food we will be tackling climate change, offering lower carbon footprint refreshments.

Our mission is to develop the cafe to be a community hub, working with a range of local groups to fight food poverty and encourage one another to live more sustainably. We are linked with Transition Leominster, the group which informs people about climate change and environmental concerns. We are run by volunteers.

Caring For The Planet

We are addressing food waste by using surplus food from supermarkets. We use compostable cups and cartons for our takeaways. We aim to have a low use of single use plastic. We are using 100% renewable electricity from Good Energy. Most of our furnishings are second hand. We try to source locally – we redecorated using paint made in Pembridge. Other items such as coffee are fairly traded. We try to source products and services locally before looking further afield.
