Details
Cottage Farm Bed & Breakfast is a great holiday base from which you can explore Herefordshire and the borders of Wales, being within a 10 minute drive of Hay on Wye, or 30 minutes from Hereford to the east and Brecon to the west.
We sit in the middle of the area made famous by Francis Kilvert in his Victorian diary and from Cottage Farm you can visit the historic cathedral city of Hereford with its unique ‘Mappa Mundi’ and ‘Chained Library,’ follow the Cider trail in and out of the Black and White villages of the county or search through the many second hand bookshops of nearby Hay on Wye.
If you enjoy walking you will not be disappointed, with a choice of walks designed to start from the garden gate, locally in the Golden Valley or in the Brecon Beacons. For the more adventurous, the Wye Valley Walk and Offa’s Dyke long distance footpath are also close.
A stay at Cottage Farm is good value for money and not only do we look after your needs as our guest, but we care about the environment. Here you can enjoy a genuine Herefordshire breakfast in our upstairs kitchen/dining room which provides views across the Wye towards the hills near Kington. If you enjoy local history you can ask questions to your hearts content whilst your breakfast is cooked in front of you.
Cottage Farm is not a working farm despite being situated in a mainly agricultural area of rural Herefordshire, on a peaceful country lane, but all our food is sourced from local producers, including eggs from our own chickens that roam freely among miniature horses, sheep, native orchard trees and a conservation area complete with natural pool.
We gladly welcome families, but unfortunately not pets. Car parking is available and we can provide secure storage for motorbikes and bicycles.
You will find our open and spacious bedrooms and shared bathroom on the ground floor making them suitable for those with less mobility and although the dining room is upstairs we can offer breakfast in your room if more appropriate. If you would prefer not to share a bathroom then we can offer the choice of a bedroom and private bathroom with just a small surcharge.
We would love to have you come and stay.
Children welcome from any age.
