The Museum Resource and Learning Centre is the central storage facility for the county’s museum collections and where collections not on show at the service’s sites across the county are stored and cared for; natural history, geology, coins, costume and textiles, archaeology, social and agricultural history.
In addition to climate controlled stores which keep the artefacts, costumes and paintings preserved for all to enjoy, the Museum Resource and Learning Centre is also open to the public for curatorial advice, identifications and drop in visits on the first Wednesday of each month from 10am to 1pm. Enquiries are welcome.
Appointments to visit the collections for longer periods of research or for group visits to see behind the scenes can be made by appointment, we are normally available on Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm, excluding bank holidays.
