The Mill Race is a relaxed, informal village pub set in the Wye Valley just 3 miles from Ross-on-Wye and 6 miles from Monmouth.

Owned and managed by people who are passionate about food, at The Mill Race nearly all of our produce is sourced from within 30 miles of Walford, some even comes from our very own farm!

Being positioned on the borders of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Monmouthshire, The Mill Race is surrounded by wonderful producers. Our regularly changing menus ensure we make the most of local produce with our focus on simple food cooked well.

As featured in Alastair Sawday’s Eat Slow Britain “Hearts soar when our inspectors find chalkboard menus promoting regional, seasonal produce: farm meats, village-baked bread, locally shot game and local brewery ale.

Eat Slow Britain, the latest title in Sawday’s Slow series, recommends and celebrates some wonderful pubs, restaurants and organic producers. The restaurants are chosen for their owners’ commitment to supporting local suppliers, sourcing food grown without chemicals and to creating a convivial space for diners to enjoy it.”

We are proud to have been awarded the Heart of England Fine Foods, Diamond Award for Best Hospitality Provider. Stating that we have an “exciting contemporary ‘local’ menu”. Along with a relaxed atmosphere in a very picturesque setting. They also congratulated us on our commitment to using the level on local produce that we do.
