About This Event
Overview:
You will have the opportunity to use the surrounding idyllic scenery as inspiration for your work and you will be able to work “en plain air” outside amongst the surroundings.
Experience level:
Due to the guided practice and practical demonstrations offered throughout the course, it is suitable for all ability levels. Beginners are most welcome.
About the tutor:
The course will be led by Sharon Brookes who is the proprietor and lead tutor of Backbury House Retreats. She has a degree in Art, is a practising artist as well as a fully qualified art teacher with nearly 30 years’ experience of teaching in a range of educational settings.
The Course Timings:
Saturday-Sunday, 10:30am to 3:30pm on each day.
During the landscape painting course, we will:
- Learn how to draw simple landscapes with focus on creatively.
- You will receive step-by-step practical demonstrations on lots of different watercolour technique with full guidance at every stage.
- You will learn the fundamentals of perspective and how to achieve depth in your work.
- Lastly, you will learn how to achieve finer details and increasing control in your work.
- By the end of the course, you will aim to achieve more accomplished watercolour paintings of landscapes.
