Three Choirs Festival - This Worlde's Joie
About This Event
The Three Choirs Festival returns for another week of oustanding music for all to enjoy. Featuring the Three Choirs Festival Chorus and the Philharmonia Orchestra, Mathias’ glorious This Worlde’s Joie is the highlight of the festival’s opening evening concert. Joyful and exuberant, this colourful work, full of uplifting voices and chiming bells, is paired with Dvořák’s Te Deum, an electrifying and ecstatic hymn of praise. Capturing the majestic energy of seafaring England, Ethel Smyth’s overture to her greatest opera The Wreckers begins this opening concert in dramatic style.
The concert takes place from 7.30 - 9.30 pm.
