Set amongst the orchards of Putley and Aylton, three special venues extend the warmest of welcomes to visitors joining in a celebration of their tradition of apple growing and cider and perry making. Each offers a different experience. Head first to Putley Parish Hall, which will be the welcome point for visitors arriving by car, the base for information, lunches and teas, and the meeting point for guided walks. Meet the growers and makers at Skittery Apple Juice and Cider, where the family will be displaying and demonstrating their commercial orchard harvesting machinery, introducing self-guided walks around the orchards, offering tastings and sales of their single variety apple juices and ciders and hosting a programme of short films and talks. Ciders and perries from a range of different makers will be on offer at Dragon Orchard, together with a programme of live entertainment. All three venues will be linked by a tractor and trailer service, though all are within walking distance. Cyclists welcome too!
