Apple Bough and Chess Cottages

Apple Bough and Chess Cottages

These cottages have been artistically furnished throughout with plenty of character and contemporary appeal. Original artworks, upholstery, thoughtful touches, fresh flowers and local treats make this cottage memorable. Superking beds make this a perfect escape for recharging in the countryside. Egyptian cotton sheets, fluffy towels.

Apple Bough compiles of wo bedrooms and two bathrooms. While Chess has a superking and double. Both properties boast an open plan dining sitting area, a well equipped kitchen, a garden each, a bbq, a firepit and the biomass wood pellet stove is an extra cosy addition to the biomass heating.

Caring For The Planet

As an apple grower Jon won the Golden Apple Award and in addition the cup for Conservation - a truly unique double.  Pearl is a natural dyer and gardener and Feltmaker using where possible local fleeces.  We aim to live and farm sustainably, we use biomass heating, green manure break crops and have 17 hives onsite. Two vegetable gardens and a dyers garden enhance our environmental impact.

Apple Bough and Chess Cottages Recommends

The farm is a great base in itself, woodland walks, apple orchards, stream with otters and dragonflies, beautiful views and footpaths.

Further afield we head to Hay for cake, swimming, books and walks. Fabulous gardens nearby and artists workshops aplenty.
