Here at The New Strand we are a family run business with a variety of facilities available to you. We are a restaurant, Bookshop, Pub and Post Office all in one.

Rebuilt in Victorian mock Gothic style after the original pub burnt down in 1900, and now consisting of a single bar, with a cafe/restaurant (doubling as family room), post office and bookshop in the same building. We offer a a family atmosphere and welcome cyclists and walkers.

Enjoy a home cooked meal or a slice of cake, sat in front of the fire with a real ale, reading a good book.

Please book ahead for Thursday and Sunday lunches to avoid disappointment.

Dogs are welcome in the pub, garden and book area (limited seating is available here) but not in the dining room.

For groups and coach parties, please enquire. Disabled facilities are available however there are steps along the way so please enquire for further information.

Hours

A varied food menu is available all day 9am to 6pm everyday except Tuesdays. Bar opens at 11am, everyday except Tuesdays.
