Staying on the Kentchurch Estate, home to the Lucas-Scuamore family for nearly 1,000 years, is a unique experience for those interested in Welsh Marches history, countryside retreats and rural charm.
Kentchurch Court dates back to the 14th century and following his failed rebellion, Owain Glyndŵr, the last Welsh Prince of Wales, is believed to have lived out his final mysterious years in the secrecy of Kentchurch under the protection of the Scudamore family.
Step back in time with all the modern comforts. Nestled on the English/Welsh border our lovingly restored historic homes offer a rare opportunity to experience the charm of centuries past with all the luxuries of today.
The Bridge Inn is a charming historic pub nestled on the banks of the River Monnow. Built as an iron forge in the 1770's, the inn has been thoughtfully refurbished to blend rustic character with modern comfort. Its riverside beer garden offers stunning views of the Black Mountains, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a pint while watching the sunset.
