Ross-On-Wye
View location

The White House guest house is situated in the historic market town of Ross on Wye and less than 100 yards from the River. We are within two minutes walk of Ross town centre, giving easy access to shops, restaurants and bars, plus easy access for Cycling, Fishing, Canoeing, Walking, Horse Racing, Cider Tours, and many other activities.

The shops, the walks, the canoeing on the River Wye, the fishing, the history trails, the Tudor buildings, the restaurants, coffee shops and bars are just some of the attractions that draw visitors year after year.

Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1971, the area has been attracting visitors for centuries. The most breathtaking natural scenery in the UK combines a unique blend of Welsh and English influences and offers a warm welcome to visitors from all over the world.

Symonds Yat Rock provides an incredible viewpoint of the River Wye and is said to be the best viewpoint in Britain. The river can be seen to follow dramatic U-bends around Huntsman and Coppet Hill. And in the distance, you can see across Herefordshire towards the beautiful mountains of mid-Wales. The river Wye is famous for its fishing and has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its nutrient unpolluted water, which supports an abundance of animal and plant life. You can see anything from kingfishers to swans on the River on any given day.
