About This Event
Angela Conner | A Life in Art Exhibition
21.10.26 – 15.11.26
Best known for her monumental kinetic sculptures, local artist Angela Conner presents a remarkable and rarely seen early chapter of her career, alongside a selection of later works, in this special exhibition at Beecher’s Gallery.
During her time as a young artist at the United Nations in New York, Conner produced portraits and sketches of world leaders and delegates, including Charles de Gaulle and Nikita Khrushchev. This early period also saw her create atmospheric dawn paintings of the East River, viewed from the UN rooftop.
The exhibition also features her acclaimed royal busts of Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III, both of whom sat for her, alongside a selection of her elegant equestrian sculptures.
A Life in Art offers a fascinating insight into the breadth of Conner’s artistic career, bringing together works that reflect her varied subjects, distinctive approach and enduring creativity.
Join us at Beecher’s Gallery for the opening reception of Angela Conner’s exhibition Tuesday 20th October 6:30pm–8:30pm, refreshments served.
