About This Event

Join us for an evening with local author and Professor of Nursing, Liz Deutsch, as she discusses her memoir, Relinquished.

Found abandoned as a six-weeks-old baby in Birmingham in 1965, Liz grew up in foster care with little knowledge of her origins. In Relinquished, she reflects on her childhood, her career in nursing and her lifelong search to understand where she came from and where she belonged.

Liz's remarkable story was documented on ITV's Long Lost Family: Born Without Trace with Davina McCall, which helped uncover new information about her family history and connect her with previously unknown relatives.

Honest, moving and ultimately uplifting, Relinquished is a story of resilience, identity and the search for belonging. During this special event, Liz will share the story behind her book and talk about the journey that led her to write it.

Copies of Relinquished will be available to purchase on the evening (cash or bank transfer), and Liz will be available for book signings. Refreshments will be available, with donations welcome.
