About This Event
Artistraw Cider's (as seen on BBC 'Country File' and 'Escape to the Country') popular tour and tasting is your chance to learn all about the work Lydia and Tom have put into creating their museum orchard, the creatures that inhabit it as well as how the cider is made. Rich in tales from cider’s colourful history, the tour is also peppered with local stories and folklore. Starting with a walk through the orchard, the tour will take in the breath-taking views of the Black Mountains and give you the opportunity to hear the stories behind some of the trees Lydia and Tom have planted. After exploring the fermentation rooms, you’ll head back to the permaculture garden where you’ll be guided through three different ciders and learn all about the work that went into their creation. Whether you're already a cider connoisseur or have yet to try your first drop, the tour caters for all. You're sure to leave armed with new knowledge about this wonderful beverage and the land and people that produce it! Artistraw make wild fermented natural cider from fruit handpicked from ancient, unsprayed traditional standard orchards which celebrate the terroir of the Welsh Marches. From naturally sparkling, to ancestral method these are beautifully presented wine-like ciders worthy of your finest glassware.
