About This Event

This inspiring event, held to celebrate International Women’s Day, brings together remarkable women from the environmental sector to highlight their role in protecting and restoring the natural world. The event will begin with a keynote speech by Lizzie Daly, a well-known wildlife presenter and conservationist, who will share her experiences, challenges, and successes as a woman working in nature. Following Lizzie’s talk, a panel discussion will explore key issues faced by women in the field and the importance of having more female voices in leadership roles. Our panellists include Alison McLean, Chair of Trustees for Herefordshire Wildlife Trust; Natalie Buttriss, CEO of Gwent Wildlife Trust; and Nicola Cutcher, an investigative journalist specialising in environmental stories and Anna Stankiewicz, who works at a senior level for Wye Valley National Landscapes and the Biodynamic Association as well as recently starting a trailblazing horticultural business. This event will shine a light on the challenges women face, while celebrating their contributions and exploring ways to create more opportunities for female leaders. It’s a chance to listen, learn, and be inspired by the incredible work being done by women to protect nature and the environment.
