Leominster Priory 900
From 14th June 2025 until 14th July 2025
About This Event
Celebrating the anniversary of the founding of Leominster Priory in 1125, Priory 900 is an exciting programme of exhibition and events exploring the amazing history of the priory church and the town, including the iconic Herefordshire School of Romanesque Art, the Priory as a place of pilgrimage, the Lost East End and its famous Ducking Stool. What did the Normans do for Leominster? In a display about the Bayeux Tapestry, find out what the Priory’s last abbess had to do with 1066 and all that! There will be craft workshops, concerts, a Norman-themed ceilidh, talks, walks, original community collaborations, school visits, special church services, and art works by local artists and students. Priory 900 is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, UK Shared Prosperity Fund, The Elmley Foundation, The Harley Charity, The Rowlands Trust, and The William A Cadbury Trust.
