Adam Hart takes us on a family journey with Operation Pimento. On 14 August 1943, his great-grandfather Squadron Leader Frank Griffiths departed RAF Tempsford on a covert mission over France but was shot down near Annecy. Only Frank survived. He embarked on an epic 108-day, 1,200 mile escape through France, Switzerland and Spain, a journey Hart retraced in 2022, tracking down and meeting descendants of the extraordinarily brave French civilians who saved Frank. A true story of survival, resilience and courage, as well as a moving travelogue.
