An Autumn Guided Walk in Herefordshire: 'Walking the Offa’s Dyke, Mortimer & Herefordshire Trails'
- 8th November 2025
About This Event
Celebrate the beauty of Herefordshire in autumn with this special guided walk starting from the market town of Kington. At just over 10 miles, this circular route is a true showcase of the season — golden woodland, wide valley views, and a rich blend of nature, history and heritage. We begin by following the Herefordshire Trail through the undulating Arrow Valley, before entering the woodland of Lyonshall Park, where autumn leaves transform the landscape into a glowing canopy. A hidden gem awaits at the old Titley Junction railway station, now privately restored with its own short stretch of track — a lovely nostalgic surprise. We then pass through the quiet village of Titley, walking beside a peaceful nature reserve pool and stopping to visit the historic St Peter’s Church. From here, the route climbs gently upwards to join the Mortimer Trail, where we’re rewarded with sweeping views over the Herefordshire hills and patchwork countryside in full seasonal colour. The final part of our journey takes us onto Rushock Hill, high above Kington, where we join the Offa’s Dyke Path for a scenic descent back to town — a fitting finale to a walk full of variety, colour, and character. Led by Sarah Price, a professional local guide, this walk is taken at a relaxed and friendly pace with time to enjoy the views, take photos, and soak in the changing season.
