Guided Walk on the Golden Valley Pilgrimage Way Michaelchurch to Clodock
About This Event
A chance to walk this beautiful section of the new Golden Valley Pilgrim Way. 12 miles, 4 churches, & a castle! People of faith & none are welcome. Just like the famous Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route, this Golden Valley path has a beautiful credential, (passport), which can be purchased for £5 and can be stamped at various churches along the way giving you satisfaction, and a memory of your walk, (the ticket price for these walks will also includes a donation to the churches that we get the stamps at of £2 per church).
This 12 mile section starts at Michaelchurch hamlet, then winds its way through glorious countryside on old lanes, footpaths, and bridleways to the tiny ancient hamlet of Craswall under Black hill, also known as the 'Cat's back'. Here we get to peak inside a stunning isolated church, before heading along directly under the mountain ridge, with superb views to Llanveno hamlet. Here we visit an extremely remote church containing some very ancient stones & views to wow! Then its down to Longtown village where there there are remains of a castle to see. We then finish at Cloddock Church next to the pub, if anyone fancies a pint!
The walk will be led by setting our intentions at the start, & there may be sections of reflective quiet walking to contemplate and relax in our natural surroundings. Sarah price your walk leader is an experienced & qualified guide.
