Harriet and John Mountford 'A Summer Serenade' - Marden Church

This concert is part of the Maund Flood Concert series. Harriet and John Mountford present a lunchtime song recital for soprano and piano. After growing up in Herefordsire, Harriet studied singing with Lynda Lee at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and sang in the choir of Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin. Subsequently Harriet studied Music at York University where she graduated with First Class Honours. Whilst at York Harriet had a busy performing career both as a soloist and consort singer with many ensembles, including University Chamber Choir, Spectrum Ensemble, and Incognito. Harriet now lives in Rochester with her husband, John, and enjoys a varied career of oratorio, recital and consort singing. John Mountford read Music and held the university organ scholarship at the University of Bristol, before being appointed organ scholar at Chichester Cathedral and latterly Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin. Whilst there he studied organ with Tristan Russcher and Andrew JohnstoneJohn became a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists in 2014. John was appointed Director of Music at King’s School Rochester in September 2017.
