About This Event

A working sawmill is a fascinating place, and Whitney Sawmills is opening its doors from 10:00am to 4:00pm for a full day of wood culture, conversation and community.

Sawmill and woodland tours run throughout the day, giving visitors a behind-the-scenes look at how British timber is processed and the remarkable range of homegrown wood the mill supplies. You will also have the chance to meet the makers who use that timber, with an exhibition of makers and associates on site including Samuel Makes, Grown in Britain, Jason Wilkins Wood Turner, Nuthatch Creations and more.

When you need a break, the Origin Pizza van will be on hand to keep you going.

Collaboration: This event has been designed to run in partnership with tours of the Duchy of Cornwall woodlands. Please note that the woodland tours require a separate booking.

A great day out for woodworkers, furniture makers, timber specifiers and anyone who wants to get closer to where great British wood comes from
