About This Event
An exciting new summer evening talks series exploring how artists, makers and researchers are working with plants as inspiration, material, subject and collaborator.
Bringing together practitioners working across photography, biomaterials, sculpture, environmental practice and storytelling, the series considers how creative work can emerge through close engagement with the natural world.
Rooted in Herefordshire’s rich rural landscape, the programme explores sustainability, ecology, making and material experimentation through a range of contemporary creative practices.
2nd June 🌼Layla Robinson - artist and maker creating sculptural works from dried flowers and foraged plant materials, exploring sustainability, landscape and the beauty of natural forms.
9th June 🍂Dr Epha J. Roe – artist and researcher working with plant-based photographic processes and sustainable approaches to image-making
16th June 🌾Sophie Ferrier – artist and researcher exploring biomaterials, soil practice and environmental activism through creative practice.
23rd June 🍎Dr David Marshall & Hugh Fowler-Wright - creators of People Holding Apples, exploring the apple as a cultural, artistic and emotional symbol through storytelling, heritage, and visual culture.
