Vikings at the Priory: Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra
- 7th June
About This Event
Leominster Priory has marvellous acoustics that make it a popular venue for visiting musicians and a natural concert venue. In association with Leominster Festival, the Priory is pleased to host the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra who will perform pieces from Bruckner, Brahms, and Mahler’s powerful Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection”.
The musical programme may not be strictly Viking related, but the audience will be surrounded by the exhibits for 'Vikings at the Priory', especially the display about the Herefordshire Hoard - ' Revealing our Roots', and the Hereford Gospels Today book - a modern response to the Gospels. The Priory will be full of many other pieces of art and historical artefacts from the Anglo-Saxon period, all of which are prompts for personal reflection about our ancestors and their legacy in Herefordshire.
This event is part of the Vikings at the Priory programme which runs from 27 May to 22 June. Visit: www.prioryarts.org.uk
