Vikings at the Priory Exhibition

The exhibition and events throughout the month of ‘Vikings at the Priory’ brings local medieval history to life.
Highlights include a full size Viking ship inside the Priory the replica Viking Herefordshire Hoard the first showing of ‘The Hereford Gospels Today’ project, inspired by the Anglo-Saxon treasure of Hereford Cathedral original displays and artworks by community groups, local artists and students relating to treasure
Alongside the exhibition, there are numerous other Viking themed events both free and paid e.g. concerts, guided tours, talks, workshops and drama productions. Explore them all at https://prioryarts.org.uk/
Family-friendly, free activity days at the Priory Hands on History: Revealing our Roots – Thursday 28th May 10am -4pm Drop-in event for all ages run by Hereford Museums &Galleries. The Great Viking Stich Up Saturday 13th June 10am-4pm Activities include weaving, bell-ringing, boat making, treasure hunt, story-telling, calligraphy, stone-masonry and more.
Re-Enactment Weekend Saturday 30th May and Sunday 30th May with Regia Anglorum who will set up a living history village on the Grange and show how our ancestors lived a thousand years ago. Plus A narrated Viking battle takes place at 3pm each day !
‘Vikings at the Priory’ is a collaborative project created by Priory Arts with support from Leominster Town Council, the Margaret Allen Foundation and Leominster PCC, with funding provided by Herefordshire Museums & Galleries, The Eveson Trust, The Elmley Foundation, Herefordshire Community Foundation, Our Place Leominster, Rotary Club Leominster.

Admission / Ticket Info:
The exhibition is FREE. Open daily 10am to 4pm (from 11am on Sundays). Leominster Priory is a working church, and some special services may be scheduled at short notice. School visits and workshops are expected most days during the show.
Disabled Access:
Generally no disabled parking at the church. Please drop people off at the door to the church by driving through the gates on Church Street and exiting the church drive through the gates into The Grange. If you do need a disabled parking space please call ahead 01568 612124.
Disabled Facilities:
Disabled toilet. Hearing loop. Wheelchair ramp inside the building to move between levels. This ancient building has many different floor levels and steps which are worn or uneven in places, so please take extra care or seek assistance when moving around.
