Industry experts selected the county's winning tourism businesses in our very first Visit Herefordshire Tourism Awards. We're delighted to congratulate our winners and are super excited that they will be put forward to the VisitEngland Awards of Excellence to compete on the national stage. Fingers crossed!

 

Our 2024 Winners

Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Award

Winner: The Courtyard Hereford

Herefordshire’s very own centre for the arts. Community is at the heart of everything they do, providing an invaluable space for innovation, creativity and participation. 

B&B and Guest House of the Year

Winner: The Temple Bar Inn, Ewyas Harold

Expect a warm welcome at this traditional inn, with a roaring wood burner in winter and a beautiful sun-drenched courtyard in summer.

Business Events Venue of the Year

Winner: The Left Bank Village

A vibrant riverside café bar and events venue where connections are made, creativity is celebrated and memories are created. 

Visitor Attraction of the Year

Winner: Small Breeds Farm

An amazing variety of miniature animals call this farm home. Expect close encounters with pigs, donkeys, horses and Pygmy goats. Plus there’s a dedicated owl centre too.

Ethical, Responsible & Sustainable Tourism Award

Winner: The Riverside at Aymestrey

A sustainable hotel and restaurant, housed in an historic 16th-century black and white building, enveloped by the natural beauty of the River Lugg valley.

Experience of the Year

Winner: Oldfield Forge

A family-run blacksmithing business that brings the art of metalwork to life with experience days for all ages. From knife making to axe throwing, it’s hands-on, creative and fun.

International Tourism Award

Winner: Hereford Cathedral

Home of the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library Exhibition, Hereford's iconic Cathedral draws visitors from across the world thanks to its fascinating history and unique architecture. 

Hotel of the Year

Winner: Old Downton Lodge

Set in an 18th-century farmhouse, this sympathetically restored restaurant with rooms has splendid rural views and serves a seasonal menu, drawing inspiration from local produce.

New Tourism Business of the Year

Winner: Newton Court

A beautifully designed, spacious building housing a restaurant, farm shop, café, cider tour hub and barn. Set within 157-acres of organic farmland, that is home to Newton Court Cider.

Pub of the Year

Winner: The New Inn 

Celebrating the rich farming heritage of Herefordshire, this former 16th-Century coaching inn  offers a menu packed with  local flavours and seasonal ingredients. Expect a warm welcome whatever the season.

Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year

Winner: Rookery Woods

An oasis of calm with three unique handcrafted cabins, each offering privacy, seclusion and an escape from today’s hectic world. A  luxury woodland retreat.

Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year

Winner: Trevase Cottages

Boasting spectacular panoramic views this rural getaway combines 18th century character with 21st century luxury and style. There’s a hot tub, pizza oven and even a state-of-the-art cinema room.

Taste of Herefordshire Award

Winner: The Riverside at Aymestrey

A sustainable hotel and restaurant, housed in an historic 16th-century black and white building, enveloped by the natural beauty of the River Lugg valley.

Unsung Hero of the Year

Winner: Simon Lockett for the Golden Valley Pilgrim Way

Simon had the vision to encourage ‘pilgrims’ to explore the beautiful Golden Valley by creating circular walking routes and a cycling route which explore this corner of the County, using the churches as overnight accommodation.
