Mappa Marches Exhibition - Kington Library
Kington
-
Immerse yourself in gloriously colourful and moody landscapes, fantastical mythical creatures and intriguing contemporary sculpture…
Our midsummer exhibiting venue is the library in Kington, a small town, not far from the border with Wales on the western side of Offa's Dyke (so this land was probably Welsh in the 8th century AD). Like so many of the Mappa Marches locations, the town is on or nearby a river, the Arrow. It’s also in the shadow of Hergest Ridge, which dominates the landscape.
The exhibition brings together a mixed discipline group of creatives, diverse yet connected through finding solace in place. The artworks hang and stand together in a joint celebration of the Welsh Marches landscape and lore.
