Dragon Orchard Retreat in Putley, Ledbury, is an orchard hideaway which offers glamping in hand crafted yurts or self-catered accommodation in a beautiful studio apartment. Cuddle up in The Cider Shack, as featured on the BBC’s My Unique B&B, which has a glorious outdoor bath, hammock and firepit for a night in à deux, whilst Yarlington Dairy is a cosy single-storey cottage, complete with woodburner. Guests are invited to enjoy a free cider tasting after a day spent exploring the glorious Golden Valley.
For family getaways

The Granary sleeps eight and is perfectly located for hikes, bike rides, canoe trips and jaunts around Hay-on-Wye, with the promise of a refreshing cider upon your return. There's also the Gwatkin Red Cow restaurant when you're too tired to cook. Alternatively, sleep under the apple trees at the cider farm's tranquil campsite.
For digital detoxers
Go off-grid at Cwtch Cabins where you can enjoy a wonderful back-to-nature glamping or camping experience. Here in Much Marcle you will be at the heart of cider country so be sure to book in a tour of Westons Cider Mill as well as visits to local artisan makers including Greggs Pit, Lyne Down and Woodredding. You can also walk through the neighbouring orchards on this circular route.
For large groups
The Crown Inn at Woolhope offers an eight bedroom cider sleepover which can be booked on an exclusive use basis (sleeps 16). Guests can retreat to bed upstairs after indulging in the restaurant and trying a few of their very own King ciders. For 20 years, owner Matt has been championing the pleasures of cider with food and diners are encouraged to try flights of cider with their meals to see how local craft makers are leading the way. For foodies
Michelin starred Pensons in Herefordshire has two courtyard bedrooms so that diners can sleepover. Passionate about local produce, the team grow or forage as many ingredients as they can themselves including apples in their stunning orchards. As well as producing their own apple juice they collaborate with nearby award-winning cider maker Little Pomona (we recommend booking a tour and tasting) on a Netherwood Estate Reserve cider, making this the only single estate cider from a Michelin starred restaurant made. Enjoy an overnight stay complete with five course tasting menu and breakfast, if you can squeeze it in!
For cider making
Stay on an award-winning cider farm set amongst 55 acres of orchards. The scent of the ripe apples is heavenly during harvest time and you'll have the chance to see the cider making process first hand and to sample the wide range of award winning ciders and perries produced on site. Broome Farm offers hearty locally sourced breakfasts and you can stock up on picnic supplies, from scones to sausage rolls, at Hilary's 'Broome Cupboard'.
For vintage fans
The Orgasmic Cider Company is set in 100 acres of orchards in Eardisley in the north of Herefordshire and offers accommodation in the Green Lane Carriage accommodation – a converted vintage train carriage.
