Eastnor Pottery, near Ledbury, Herefordshire is delighted to announce details of its fun and creative pottery sessions for families in the rapidly approaching October half term holiday. Hedgehogs provide the inspiration for the autumnal clay fuelled fun.
Participants of all ages and abilities will each make a terracotta hedgehog using the hand modelling pinch-pot technique. They will also be encouraged to paint their creations with a creamy white slip – perfect for scratching through to reveal the raw terracotta clay underneath. Connoisseurs of the clay arts will know this technique as sgraffito, a very satisfying and fun method of pottery decoration.
The hedgehogs will be fired, glazed and ready for collection from the Pottery one month later.
1.5 hr sessions commence at 9.30am, 11.30am and 2pm.
