Half-term - Croft Castle

Enjoy an autumn adventure this half-term at Croft Castle! Explore autumn in the parkland with your family, choose your favourite art piece in the ‘An Apple Gathering’ exhibition, run wild in the natural play area, and have a go at our half-term children’s trail and broomstick agility course. Pop on your wellies and feel the crunch of autumn leaves underfoot, host a conker match or two and warm up in the tea-room with a delicious hot chocolate or an autumnal one-pot.

As you explore, look out for the different art installations that form Croft Castle’s ‘An Apple Gathering’ exhibition. This exhibition celebrates the importance of Herefordshire’s apple-growing history and has transformed the castle, grounds, church, and walled garden into a world of apple discovery, with stories of this humble fruit told through art, music, sculptures, and literature.

Channel your inner witch or wizard and challenge your family to Croft’s broomstick agility course. Grab a broomstick (or bring your own!) and try your hand at the agility course on the front lawn.

You can also take part in our ‘rotten apples’ half-term trail, where little ones can discover the really rotten apples lurking around Croft Castle. Follow the trail around the gardens and learn more about the creatures that visit the orchard and how apples (even the rotten ones!) can help look after local wildlife. Trail packs cost £3 and include a colouring sheet, coloured pencils, and a prize.
