The Pleck,

Monkland Cheese Dairy is a working dairy producing local artisan cheeses and retailing fine British and continental cheese.

Here at Monkland Cheese Dairy we make a range of cheeses in lovely rural Herefordshire. All our cheeses are always available for tasting. Each batch of cheese made varies slightly – the potential of the milk to produce different flavours varies very much with the seasons and therefore the cheeses are never exactly the same. As an artisan using low intensity food production, we embrace the seasonality and variety. It is nice to know that the seasons, the cows and the hand of the cheesemaker all have their part to play!

Taste, buy and enjoy our famous Little Hereford Cheese made traditionally by hand.

Meanwhile, enjoy a Herefordshire ploughmans, soup, bread and cheese, local ciders and beers, homemade cakes with a cup of good tea or coffee in Monkland Cheese Dairy’s award winning cafe in out beautiful barn. Or if the weather is on our side, enjoy your meal in our flower garden.

Buy our fabulous cheeses in the farm shop along with other local cheeses, ciders, beers, apple juice, ice cream and more…

Guide dogs permitted.

Regular guided tours are taken around the dairy. Each tour takes about half and hour and you will see the production of cheese in a traditional, hand-made style.
