Feeling daring? We challenge you in teams of four to take on Britain’s Great Wall of Wales on the first ever Race the Sun Offa’s Dyke.

After 15 amazingly successful years of Race the Sun, we’re taking this phenomenally popular team challenge to another beautiful part of the UK and we cannot wait! In 2019, teams will work every muscle in their body as they race the sun (and other teams) to conquer the UK’s largest natural monument in aid of sick children and babies.

Rise at the crack of dawn for a three-activity team challenge following this ancient earthwork, which dates back to the eighth century and stretches for a whopping 177 miles through the lush, green countryside of the Welsh border.

Kicking off from the Digeddi Wildlife Campsite near Glasbury, you start your day with a stunning 22km cycle along the Gospel Pass, which, at a whopping 551 metres above sea level, is Wales’ highest road. Descending into Llanthony, you swap your bikes for boots for your 22.2km trekking section. This section of Offa’s Dyke is renowned for its beauty. You’ll pass the ruins of the beautiful and evocative 12th century Llanthony Priory and enjoy breath-taking vistas all the way of the surrounding hills and the Wye Valley, until you reach Glasbury.

Time to start your last stretch: a 3.4km canoe down the wonderful River Wye. Paddling in two-seater sit-on-top canoes, you’ll paddle all the way back to our base – and finish line – at the Digeddi Wildlife Campsite!

All funds raised by the challenge will support the work of children's charity Action Medical Research, offering hope to the many thousands of families across the UK, who are dealing with the trauma of a baby born too early, striving to support a child affected by disability, or facing the challenge of caring for a child with a rare and devastating disease for which there is no cure.
